One Thing to Know
In the early 1800s an attempt was made to build a road from the Albany to Sackets Harbor on Lake Ontario. That road passed up the western side of Tupper Lake where a bridge passed over a brook. That brook flows out of the pond now known as Bridge Brook Pond.
The trail to Bridge Brook and Black Ponds is attractive, but its’ main appeal is that there is nothing special about it. Which means that on most days it’s a pleasent walk in the woods that you’ll have all to yourself.
Black pond is just one mile from Route 421 and the trail arrives at an attractive spot. This is ideal for families with young children or if you are looking for quick walk.
The route passes around a beaver pond and meadow on the eastern end of Black Pond on the way to Bridge Brook Pond.
